Identify Theif
Identity theft. Not only is this very common in our world, this is extremely common in the spiritual world. Satan wants to steal your identity, in fact, he often does. If we knew how powerful we are in Christ, we’d be unstoppable. We wouldn’t fear, doubt, be anxious, rude, hurt others, etc. We’d be confident in God and in our purpose. The things that can be accomplished through knowing who we are in Christ are limitless. Nothing can stop us. Except ourselves. We can hear from God all day, but we need to want to listen. Whether He speaks to us in words, or places things on our hearts, a lot of the time we aren’t really listening. Life gets so busy that it can over take the small voice that’s trying to give us the answers. God gave each one of us our own purpose, our own attributes and our own character. When we look at someone else and want to be like them, or look like them, we are basically saying to God that He didn’t make us right. But how could that be? God doesn’t make mistakes. We make choices. And God gives us the opportunity to make our own choices. We are all different, and yet God loves us all the same. Equal.
When we let Satan steal our identity and begin to believe the lies he tells us, we become inward. Guarded. Insecure. Unstable. Self -centered. We lose sight of what God is gifting us with. Satan traps us into thinking we are worthless. He gets in our head because we let him in. Once he’s in a little he tries to move in. We’ve got to set higher standards for what gets in to our minds and what we allow to stay there. God builds us up, if something is tearing us away from peace, it’s not of God. The mind is powerful, and if we use it right, we can use it for good.
”Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
God has a well thought out, perfect path for each and every one of us. Not one is forgotten. We choose whether we want a secure identity or an identity that is trying to destroy us. Truth or lies. Satan is the identity theif. It’s time we put on the armor of God and protect who we are.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Galatians 6:11 (all of Galatians 6:10-18 is about The Armor of God.)
Stand firm and hold on to what God has given you. You are exactly who you are supposed to be. God never makes a mistake. You are loved.
