Having Faith Over Fear
Fear. One of the biggest four letter words in our language. It holds a lot of power. It prevents us from doing so many things everyday. This is the enemies biggest weapons against us to prevent us from doing God’s Will. A lot of time, fear is subtle. Just one thought and it begins. God has an incredible plan for each one of our lives. And because the enemy knows this, he wants to stop you. He doesn’t want you to live to your full potential because God could use you to save more people. One more soul in hell, one less to return to the Father. But we have a God that is bigger than any fear we can have.
If we allow it, fear will deafen us to God’s voice.
Every single person will go through fear in their lives. You can not avoid it. What makes it matter is the way you deal with it. This takes practice and God’s strength. The phrase, “You’ll never know unless you try”, makes so much sense. Would you rather go through something new being afraid, or regret that you have never even tried it? Some of the greatest successes were obtained by fighting through fear. You will not fail if you keep going. The moment you fail is the moment you quit. Every time you fall and get back up- that is a success.
Fear keeps you in your comfort zone.
Fear comes in many shapes and sizes. It can be a subtle though that initiates us to pull back from something, or the cruel words from someone else that changes our minds. By definition, Fear means: “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous. To be afraid.” It is an emotion. As we all know, emotions lie to us. Makes sense on why this comes from the enemy. God will not have you do anything that would bring you harm. So why does fear consume us? Because it holds us back. We listen to our emotion instead of God. Imagine how many opportunities we’ve missed because we let fear dictate to us.
Fear will cripple you from doing God’s Will.
There is a way to beat it. Strength from the Word of God. Knowing and holding to His truths. He doesn’t say that we won’t feel fear. We definitely will, it’s unavoidable, but we can choose to continue forwards. He does say He will never leave us. One foot in front of the other. The possibilities are endless. Being fearless doesn’t me you aren’t afraid, it means you are afraid but you walk through it anyways. That’s when it gets easier to go through. Never quitting. It takes a brave person to get knocked down over and over and still continue to get back up and move forward. Don’t let the enemy steal that. God is stronger and He has an amazing purpose for your life. He will be there with you.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea” Psalm 46:1-2
