Be You.
There is only one person on this earth that you will always be with. Every second, everyday. This person you can never run from, leave or escape from. This person is you. You are always with yourself. How’s that going for you? If you think about it, you can either be your own best friend, or your own worst enemy. It’s kind of crazy how we talk to ourselves- yet we would never talk to someone else that way. What are you thinking about yourself? Are you encouraging yourself or putting yourself so far down that you feel like you’re drowning? What if we walked around talking to people the way we talk to ourselves? Some of would sound awful. A lot of time we don’t think too badly of ourselves, not until someone plants something negative in our minds. If we aren’t strong enough in our place with Jesus and the truth He tells us, we will grow that negativity. Our insecurities are fed by our own thoughts. We are not perfect but God wants us to be confident, strong and secure in who He has made us to be. We are children of God. Each one of us was made for a specific purpose, with a unique finger print that is our own. There is no one else like us anywhere. We need to look at ourselves for what we are in Christ and not what we look to be in the world. The world lies. Satan doesn’t want us to see ourselves the way God intended us to be. Imagine the power we could have knowing our place with God. The amount of love and encouragement that could be spread if we felt confident about who we are. We need to learn how to be our own best friend. Once we let Jesus in to our hearts, He is there. So, now, you are always with yourself and Jesus. Jesus is there to encourage and lead us. We need to learn how to drown out our own insecurities and doubts, and tune in to what Jesus says. We think a lot about ourselves, which is why we get ourselves into trouble. If we focus on others and what is happening around us, we’ll stop thinking about our problems and start encouraging those around us. Jesus is taking care of us while we are taking care of others. When we are facing a crowd of people that need help, Jesus is watching our back and making sure we have what we need to go on. You don’t have to be perfect to do God’s work, just be you. Be the you that God created. Be such an awesome you, that you want to spend time with yourself. Everyone is different and everyone has their own gifts. Pray about your gifts and for God to help you use them to your best potential. Love yourself. Be there for yourself, but don’t get lost in yourself. God will take care of you while you’re following Him. He will never let you down, He will always be with you. If the Creator of everything loves you, why not love who He made you to be? Love God. Love yourself. Love others. Be you.
”He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good.” Proverbs 19:8
