The Race Isn’t Over Yet
We all have things to do. Jobs, school, kids, marriages, etc. Sometimes even just waking up and getting through the day is hard enough. Every day life can be exhausting. We get caught up in the things. The schedules, the daily tasks, the never ending list of chores and work. We lose sight of the why behind our lives. God didn’t create us to wake up, work, rest and repeat. Every single day we are alive we make an impact, some way, some how. Unfortunately , we can become self centered very easily. We get tired, over worked, stressed, depressed, lonely and through these feelings what we end up getting at the end of the day, is lost. God wants us to stay on our path, but He has so many beautiful things on our path that we never stop to see. Tunnel vision sets us back. God gives us goals and passions for a reason, but what good are those when we don’t share them? What good is a gift if it causes stress?
God has given me a lot. But to be completely honest, I have allowed the gifts become a thorn at some point on my journey. What ever God gives us is not to become a burden. This took me a long time to understand. With each gift that God has given me, I noticed that the world gives you something to try and counteract it. Satan tries to suppress it with fear. He has used anxiety to push my gifts away and hide them. I tend to try to reason everything in my head. Over analyzing situations. This can take you down. Or, you can put faith to work and it can bring you up. Better yet, it can and will bring others up. The main reason we have gifts from God is to help others. When we look around and past ourselves, it doesn’t take long to find someone that just needs a smile. A “hello”. A door being held. People are hurting. Our world is in pain. We can make a decision to be the light in the world. And God is more than happy to equip us to do so when we make that choice. Helping others doesn’t have to be a huge act of kindness. A lot of the time, it’s the smallest gesture of God’s love that leaves the biggest impact.
God doesn’t hurt people. Hurt people hurt people. We can break the chain and help others. And trust me, even when you’re having a bad day, God will send someone your way to show His love. When we take care of others, God takes care of us. And no single person on this planet can take better care of us than God.
Our most important job: Being stewards of God, while putting Him first and loving others.
The race isn’t over yet.
