Stand Firm
In a world that is always trying to sway us towards material items, stand firm. God wants us to be happy and have things that make us happy, but we are to put our faith in Him. Within seconds we can be sucked away from Him and what He has planned for us- if we don’t stand firm in what we know is true. God tells us to live a life after Him. Our worldly possessions will all fade away and we can not take them with us- but we will always have the promises of God.
The world fools us. It fools us with what we see to be important, and how we value our happiness. We measure success by the amount of things someone has. This leads to jealousy, wanting what some one else has; insecurity, that we can’t look like the people we see on T.V, anger that we can’t accomplish what others have accomplish and failure, because being so-called rich seems impossible. These are all the false perceptions the devil uses to put our focus on the world and not on God. It’s a distraction. God doesn’t want us to put our value in material items, He wants to be valued. He wants your attention. He wants to bless us. We are blessed when we focus on Him and His will. We grow and have more when we focus on Him and know that the things we have are temporary and that He is eternal. Of course we will have attachment to things, it’s human nature. We don’t have to let things rule over us.
We always have a fight in front of us. When we shift our mind to be on God and what He has already blessed, rather than on what we want and what we don’t have, we will be able to enjoy the world more. There is beauty in the world, beyond all the lies satan throws at us. God made this world beautiful long before satan tried to make it ugly. Don’t let the world dictate who you are and what you should be. And defiantly don’t let it tell you what kind of relationship you should or shouldn’t have with God. Stand firm. God first is the answer to all the problems we have. He wants our time. And when we are faithful to Him and trust in His Word, things will work out for us. He is the One, almighty amazing God. And nothing that the world does will ever change that. Don’t let it change you either because God lives in us. We are strong and we can fight against the evil of this world with the Love of God.
